Rules & Regulations of Illuminate Animation Competition 2009

1. The competition is open to everyone, and there are no separate categories for students or industry professionals. There is no limit on the number of submissions per participant; group participation is allowed. Please note that ALL fields/information must be filled in for ALL participants in order to qualify.

2. No registration fee will be charged. Registration deadline is on February 8, 2009. All late registrations or late entries will strictly not be entertained.

3. There will be 3 prizes awarded, 1st prize $2000 (cash + vouchers), 2nd prize $1000 (cash + vouchers) and 3rd prize $500 (cash + vouchers). Winners will be contacted via their CGL, so please ensure that CG numbers and all other relevant fields are printed clearly.

4. All works must be submitted in Quick Time MOV video format, 720x576 screen size, length of at least 1 minute to [e-mail]. Any software can be used for this competition, unless otherwise stated.

5. By entering this competition, all entrants agree that ILLUMINATE 2009 and its organizing committee are not held responsible for any damage or loss of artworks. The finished animation will be in the joint ownership of the creator as well as the organising committee. The latter thus has the right to duplicate, distribute or publish the work in any form, either in part or in full for promotional, commercial or other purposes.

6. All entries must be original, previously unpublished/un-submitted work.
Plagiarism in all forms (character design, story etc.) is not allowed. AIM and ILLUMINATE 2009 organizers will not be responsible for any act of copyright breach, plagiarism or legal infringement by participants.

7. The competition will be judged by qualified industry professionals in a fair and appropriate manner. Therefore, the organising committee is not obligated to disclose reasons for choice of winners or disqualifications and other disputes. The judges’ decision will be final.

8. No offensive/disturbing images, words or music is allowed in the competition. Entries containing any such content will be disqualified. In addition, participants are encouraged to engage in themes that are inspiring and encouraging, in line with Christian values.

9. The organizers retain the rights to alter these terms and conditions at any point up to two weeks before the judging without prior notice. Wherever possible, additional changes/information will be uploaded into http://www.illuminate.sg, participants are advised to check their emails for updates.
